While I thoroughly admire you for FINALLY supplying me with salsa verde in those little packets, we have a problem. You have discontinued my favorite cantina taco from your menu. WHY?! It was quite possibly the healthiest thing you had, something that I noshed on regularly. I loved that they came in corn tortillas, not those flour frisbees or deep fried crunchy shells. And they came with limes! I love limes. Not to mention the lovely pico de gallo and fajita chicken. The only thing it was missing was fresh avocado and some cheese. It was almost the perfect taco. You even wrapped it up in a foil packet so I could eat at the park if I wanted to. Why have you treated me so? Have I not been a regular customer, forsaking Taco Bueno and even the notorious Taco Casa to fulfill my gastric yearnings? I just don't understand. What did I do?
I guess I must move on from you. I shall stretch what was typically a 15 minute lunch run either standing in line at Fuzzy's requesting one of their chicken tacos with no lettuce or sitting in my car at Taco Cabana for 30 minutes waiting on the people who are evidently ordering for their entire office so I can get one of their "street" tacos. You dissapoint me, Taco Bell. For shame.
We were recently craving Taco Bell and so I sent my hubby to "make a run for the Border." On his way out the door I said, "Make sure and grab A TON of salsa packets! We're totally out!" And we LOVE their salsa, to almost obsessive lengths. He yells back, "You got it!" He comes home with six salsa packets. Six. Where on Earth did he get the idea that "a ton" is quantified by six when speaking of free condiments? I asked him why. His answer? "They were looking at me." "Who?" I asked. "The people behind the counter. I was afraid to grab more than that." Wow.
ReplyDeleteLoved Cantina Tacos. Sorry for your loss. :)

That is a shame! I too love the lime.
ReplyDeleteI hate when places I love to go to decide to stop making my favorites. They should be ashamed to be such an inconvienence.
ReplyDeleteI just hate it when a place discontinues one of my regular items! Oh, the shame of them!
