What I Did On My Summer Vacation

It has been too long! I decided to take a little vacation, which of course always seems to coincide with my computer crashing, which happened Sunday night. After a much needed and long over due reformat and fighting with Firefox to allow me on to Blogger, I am back. So, I thought I would share what I did on my summer vacation. :D

We took a trip to see my grandparents and the rest of the family, which included one of the largest classic car cruises in the country. Boy was it fun, but it was hot!
There were so many classics, dragsters, and antique cars I didn't know what to do with myself. Neither did the boys.

This is the one I want! A lovely bright yellow Chevelle station wagon. Sweet.

Can't forget the bug!

My mom and I also decided to take the boys to the zoo. Of course, this was Matthew's first time, and it was hotter than Hades out (105 in the shade!), but it was totally worth it. We got up close with silverback gorillas on two occassions.

Evidently, Matthew is deathly afraid of kangaroos.

And alligators.

And I just thought this bug was really cool looking.

It was a fun couple of weekends, but alas school is back in session and I had to go back to work. Couple this with the fact that I am not only the room parent for Benjamin's class this year, but also on the board. It will definitely make for a busy year, but it will be fun!

  1. Your little ones are adorable! Everything is winding down here as well. One more week (or is it two?) and the tourist season is over here! I always look forward to things winding down a bit...mostly looking forward to the heat letting up!

  2. Love the Chevelle and Bug! Okay the first bug not the second one. LOL!

The zoo is always a hit with my grandsons. Love it when their little faces light up.

Sounds like a great time and good luck with the school activities, busy year ahead.

  3. Oh, they're so cute!Poor little Matthew...the look of terror on his face! We can only hope that the more he's exposed to this stuff, the more he'll like it.

  4. Suzicate, I always look forward to the heat letting up. Fortunately, it looks like we're getting a cold front just in time for me to sit around and be lazy over Labor Day weekend. :D

Heather, that VB was pretty awesome. My pictures don't do many of the cars justice. I just wish I could have gotten pics of all the "Cars" cars.

Kathryn, I think he'll get used to it, eventually. If I remember correctly Benjamin outgrew that fear at about 3, so we've got a little bit of time still.
