Another Monday, and I'm retaining so much water I feel like a water balloon. Granted, it's not as bad as when I was prego, but it never ceases to amaze me how much I swell up. I don't think it's the heat so much as the humidity that's causing it. I promise you wouldn't feel this way in Lubbock. I can deal with 98 degree temps, but when the humidity is sitting at 85%, there's not much you can do, besides pull your hair back so you don't look like a French poodle who got its tail stuck in the electrical socket.
I spent most of the weekend outside under the shade of my gazeebo, while the kids played in the pool. This is how birthday parties are supposed to be! You let the kids run around outside for hours, hang out with the adults, and by the time the kids are ready to go, they're so warn out they don't fight you about going to bed. (Insert evil laugh here.)
The new door frame for the back door is in! I still have yet to put the interior trim on, but a friend who works for an architecture firm thought we did a great job. I've also got to buy a new door sweep, as we've got a good 1/2 inch gap at the bottom of the door. I've got cardstock taped on there right now to stop some of the airflow, but it looks really ghetto. I did take pictures, so when I get a tiny bit more time, I'll post them. I've still got Matthew's birthday and a dr's appointment for both boys this week, a birthday party and a wedding this weekend, and Matthew will be getting tubes put in his ears next Tuesday, so it may take me a few days to get to them. Oh, and I have to find time in there somewhere to reformat my computer so I don't feel like I'm still on dial up. Have a great Monday!
The heat and humidity is gawd awful!! I can't get the dogs to go out and leave me alone for any measurable amount of time.
ReplyDeleteLove the evil laugh!!
So glad you got the door in and it is almost finished.
Sounds like a busy week, try to take it easy.
LOVE the new page design!
Yeah, the humidity is becoming unbearable.
ReplyDeleteGlad you like the page design! I was playing with it yesterday, so I hope it's readable.
I'm with you on the birthday parties. My kids are summer birthdays, too. And we keep the outside and active then end the party about 30 seconds before heatstroke sets in. They actually want water more than candy.
ReplyDeleteYeah...humidity sucks the life out of a perfectly wonderful summer day, right? That sticky, bloated feeling is definitely no fun....that's why they made air conditioning!
ReplyDeleteGlad the kiddies had a good time! Summertimes's the perfect time to be outside and get messy!
