Glorious Vacation

I'm back! We lucked out with the weather this weekend, as it decided to cooperate for the most part. We dealt with 40 mph winds Thursday night that split two of my tent poles. Luckily, my grandfather keeps gorilla glue and zip ties with him at all times. I just got off the phone with Coleman, and they're sending me a replacement kit for free. :D It rained about 5 minutes Saturday morning, just enough to get all the fire wood soaked and almost impossible for me to start a fire. Almost.

The hard part was getting my oldest to be happy and feel better. Not only was he on antibiotics, but he had a pulled muscle in his neck that forced me to go through an entire box of Icy Hot Patches. He was better by Saturday and back to his normal goofy self. My youngest seemed to enjoy the entire trip, and started to stand on his own without holding on to things. It will soon be even more difficult to keep up with him.

All in all the trip went really well. See for yourself!

My husband, Michael, and my grandfather putting up the tent for me.

My youngest and I eating lunch.

Hubby and youngest. You gotta love their hair. Notice the mutton chops on hubby? The falling mohawk on my youngest?

My oldest fell asleep after several hours of complaining about his neck

Peekaboo!

This is what we were calling Turtle Pond. I'm not sure what the name of it is, but it's crystal clear. You can actually see the fish refusing to bite the lures when you're fishing.

The path along the creek. It winds up and down.

The natural spring I hiked up to. You could actually hear the water bubbling out. The water was so crisp and clean.

Just a few feet below, the water cascades down a small waterfall. I could seriously live there.

As we were packing up and getting ready to go, my youngest fell asleep on my brother.

This is why I love my oldest so much. He loves to make goofy faces anytime there's a camera around.

Hope you all had as much fun as I did!
